The University of Nairobi Management made a confirmatory visit to Nyandarua University College to assess progress on the Implementation of the CUE Technical Inspection Report Recommendations

In preparation for the Commission for University Education’s (CUE) follow-up technical inspection of the proposed Nyandarua University College (NyUC) scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, 2025, a team from the University of Nairobi, led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (Ag.), Eng. Prof. Ayub N. Gitau, visited Nyandarua University College on January 16-17, 2025.

The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the progress made in implementing the recommendations outlined in the initial Technical Inspection Report conducted on June 4, 2024. During their visit, the University of Nairobi team was warmly received by Hon. Agnes W. Njunji, the County Executive Committee Member for Education, Children, Gender Affairs, Culture, and Social Services. The team also paid a courtesy call to His Excellency Dr. Moses Kiarie, Governor of Nyandarua County, where they briefed him on the ongoing developments in the establishment of Nyandarua University College.

This proposed institution, a constituency college of the University of Nairobi, will be located in Olkalou, with initial operations commencing at the refurbished Oljoro Orok Agricultural Training Centre (ATC).

The University of Nairobi team was joined by the Nyandarua County Technical Team, led by Dr. Pachomius Wambugu, the County Chief Officer for Education, Children, Gender Affairs, Culture, and Social Services, to discuss and finalize preparations for the upcoming follow-up inspection. This collaborative effort marks a critical step toward ensuring the successful establishment and future operations of Nyandarua University College.
